Bread Of Life Ministires International - A Historical Sketch

The original plan was to set up a halfway house for Olongapo and Angeles prostitutes but a word from God was received that He had something greater in mind. One week was too short a time to prepare for a Sunday service but God opened doors for His work to be started. A grand promotion was needed to make sure the gathering would be well-attended but the same result was accomplished simply by word of mouth. Clearly, the Lord’s hand was moving right from the very start.


Thus, on November 14, 1982, the very first Sunday service of Bread of Life was held at Maryknoll College (now Miriam College) with a gathering of about 120 people. Ten years have passed since then and Bread of Life is now considered as one of the more respected and established Bible churches in the country.


Very much like its beginnings, there were no elaborate programs and strategies behind the ministry’s remarkable growth. Emphasis was simply put on the power of prayer, the importance of commitment to the Word of God, and the new life in Jesus Christ. This finds no greater expression than in the faith-walk of the church, specifically of its leaders. Time and time again, the Lord has proven Himself faithful in sustaining this ministry that has chosen to live by faith.


As the church grew in prayer and the Word of God, so did the ministry of Bread of Life. From the discipleship training program handled by its senior pastor, Rev. Butch Conde, early in the ministry, God raised people who would later become elders, deacons, workers, pastors and evangelists of the church. more...
